Dear Crescent Montessori Families,
Happy New Year!
I trust that you enjoyed precious time with your families and friends during the Holiday season.
Before we all rush back to our lovely school, I wanted to share some important information and upcoming dates with you.
Looking Ahead to the New Year
We are expecting a fruitful start to the new year as we look forward to welcoming two new students to the program in January. I am also excited to share that the Founder of Crescent Montessori, Karin Niehoff, has graciously made herself available to return as our Music Teacher. Karin will be visiting the classroom to lead the children with her beloved music program for the remainder of the school year. In order to allow our new students to acclimate to the classroom routines prior to introducing enrichment activities, Music classes will begin at the end of January. You can learn more about our Founder, Karin Niehoff, here.
Save the Date! Annual Campaign and Movie Night
Our Annual Movie Night is set for Friday, April 10th. This beloved event will take place at our very own Sonoma Community Center in the Andrews Hall Theatre. This year, we are coupling Movie Night with the Annual Fundraising Campaign, which was postponed from its usual Fall timeline due to power outages and school closures. More information on fundraising will follow from Crescent parent Kinh O’Brien, who has kindly volunteered (once again) to spearhead fundraising events for the school this year.
Webinar: Living Life Unplugged
It is becoming increasingly challenging in this day and age to find time to be present for what is in front of us “off-line”. For Primary-aged children especially, too much screen and media time can be detrimental to their natural development. I invite you to watch this 16-minute webinar to learn more about the impact of technology on children.

- Monday, January 6th: School Resumes
- Friday, January 17th: Staff Meeting; 11:30 a.m. departure for ALL students

I am looking forward to welcoming the children back to school with renewed enthusiasm to learn and explore.
